Title: Correction of Z axis position
Post by: osorescu on March 18, 2013, 02:16:39 PM
Hello,

I'm working on a mill machine, using Mach 3, that it is somehow mechanically damaged and, when it vibrates, it tends to lower the tool (mechanically) without changing the Z coordinate in the software. Could somebody help me to make a G-code to use the PROBE(G31) to automatically correct the Z position of the tool so that it changes the Z value of the actual tool position.

Thank you for your input.

You need to fix the "machine" as a software approach will never work correctly for accurately machining parts.

Just a thought, (;-) TP
