Title: How to set Safe Z Height?
Post by: kdunn1965 on February 17, 2013, 11:02:36 AM
It has been some time since I set up my machine, but I would like to change the safe Z height and cannot locate where to change this setting.
Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Hood,

I think I mis spoke and called it Safe Z Height. It might be "Rapid Travel Height"???  I am looking for the setting that the Z axis raises up to at the beginning of the code and the height it raises to when returning to the home position at the completion of the code.

Thanks

Kevin

That is done in your GCode.

Just wondering if you could be meaning the G28 positions on the Homing and Limits page (from Config menu )  ?

Hmmm, you may be correct, I could not recall if this is set in my CAM program that generates the G code (I have looked in both Mach and CAM setups) but cannot seem to locate it in either place
I know it was a constant I set at some point in time.....but I have slept since then and forgot :)

This is the line at the beginning of the code that sets it to 0.8"

N140G00G43Z0.8000H1

And then again at the end before it returns to the home position.

N56850G00Z0.8000
N56860G00X0.0000Y0.0000
