Title: Touch plate info wanted

hi all,

just been reading up on touch plates.

could i get some info on whats needed to make one work.

what voltage does it need to be and what pins to i connect it to?

thanks, he says

one end of the electrical connection is soldered to the PCB whilst the other end is connected to pin 15 of the LPT port

so am i simply connecting a wire from the touch plate to pin 15. it sounds to simple?

It really is that simple but you must be sure the spindle is not insulated or it won't pick up the contact from the cutter tip. If it is insulated, you can just ground a cable to an alligator clip and attach it to the cutter itself to create the circuit.

Also, don't forget to enable the probe in Ports and pins in Mach.

i might post back if i get some issues setting mach up
