Title: 3D-CAM needed
Post by: Garfield on January 27, 2013, 10:50:33 AM
Hello, can you please  give me an overview of affordable 3D-CAM for my 3-axis-mill.
I only know Meshcam.
I have not much money, so i can only buy one, and need the best one for my money.
Thanks

Personally I think MeshCam is pretty good value for money but you may also like to check out DeskProto.
Both have trial versions so you can 'try before you buy'.

Hello,
i have a question to DeskProto.
I hate software, i need every new windows-installation a new key from the develper, because the pc-id changes after a new windows installation, and the licence does not match
. whats with DekProto after new installation?

That's perhaps a question you would have to take up with the software company concerned.

It would not be unreasonable to limit a one PC software license to just one PC but equally if you could prove a new Windows installation was with the same PC then it would not be unreasonable to expect them to issue a fresh software license.

It all depends what you want to do now or in the future. Only you can decide and once you select the item of choice you to pay for it. You really need to compare what a program accepts / does for input, the user interface, what it generates, etc.
The more sophisticated programs provide options which you may not find in other programs and you pay for what you get.

Take your time and evaluate to satisfy the way you work and what you need, thus no suggestion provided.
