Title: Pause button on 43.066 version...
Post by: giannis121 on January 16, 2013, 12:35:30 PM
Have you noticed any problem on the 066 version with pause button (on plasma screen)?
When I hit pause the program pauses at the end of the line, never pauses in the middle.
Any ideas would help...
Thank you in advance,
Giannis

Hello everybody.
I have the same problem and i'm running version 43.022. Does anybody know a version that does not do that?
I need when i press the pause button the program must stop immediately.

Hi Guys,

The Pause function is intended to halt the program execution in a controlled manner in order to maintain ‘position’ (relationship between program position and machine position). If Pause was to occur immediately, within a program line, then it could and in most cases will cause loss of ‘position’ so would be useless if the work was to be continued from the point at which it was halted.

The Stop button (or EStop) will halt the program immediately (within a program line) but exact ‘position’ is then lost.

Just my opinion.

Tweakie.

Yes but this will cause a problem when plasma or oxyfuel cutting. When the arc/flame is lost we need to pause immediately the program and start to go backwards.

Mach3 will never pause instantly but I have never had it wait until the end of the line until it does, well unless the line is a short move.
