Title: Pulse/Dir connection on Sanyo Denki
Post by: corydoras on January 30, 2007, 10:48:59 AM
Hi

I have a question about connecting step/dir to my Sanyo Denki Bl Super amplifier.

It has position control, and can take either 2 pulse-trains or 1 pulse input and one direction input.

Has anyone ever connected this and run it under Mach software?

My main question is:
Do I need any kind of Breakoutboard, or do i connect the wires from my paralellport directly onto the amplifier?

Best reg
Cory

It depends on the drive. The SD's I have seen have an internal buffer amp on the inputs. See if you can find the specs for input current. If it is much over 5mA a buffered BOB would be preferred.
