Title: Mach3 probe plugin?
Post by: bkp08817 on December 27, 2012, 12:28:12 PM
Newbie here learning how to not destroy the G0704 that took me a lot of money and too long to build.

Does anybody know where the Mach3 probe plugin is located?  It's not on the Artsoft page.
I'm trying to use the the Circle Center wizard but I don't get any motion when i press the start button.  I guess I need to install the plugin?
Any advise??

Is it not included in the Mach download? Have a look from Config menu then Config Plugins and see if its there, if not I can attach it.

Hood  there has been a lot of trouble with Art's probing plugin and newer versions of mach3. I believe that is why it was taken down from the site.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Yea, its not included with the install.

So is there a way to use the probing wizards without that plugin?

The circle centre wizard is just a jog and press button operation as far as I am aware.

Ah, manaully jog it to trigger the probe, that's how it works?
I was under the impression that once I pressed the start button that it would travel automatically.
Wonder why then there is a feedrate DRO on the screen?

I have never used it but just thought as there is the jog control it would be manual, also seems to me that there are buttons to press when you have touched off the edge so definitely looks a manual operation to me.
Maybe it works in auto as well though?

Oh also meant to add the feedrate will likely be for the Go to centre button, so it goes at the speed you set there.

The 3dprobing was automatic in older versions of Mach. You select center of hole it gave you directions of positioning the probe in the hole once you push start it would go in 4 directions then to center of the hole . A box would open telling you you were in the center. You could then zero your X and Y for reference or what ever.
Seems to be alot of problems with probing they need to develope a new version that works since it was available in older versions, not just take it out.
