Title: Single axes cnc
Post by: Magicman on December 23, 2012, 03:01:59 PM
May seem strange but i want to create a single axes cnc machine. I want it to control the depth stops on my metal brake. Wondering if i could create a screen through Mach three to do this? I have really not done much  in scripting . Can i use Visual basic to create the forms with buttons and DRO?

not strange at all. i have mach running a back gage on my press brake. single axis. used 2 rolled ball screws mounted each end of the brake frame. attached to the ball nut is an angle  mount that is bolted to a 2x6x.188 rectangular aluminum extrusion.2 movable stops can slide the full length . brake is a hydraulic pearson 14'. 180 ton. i just created a simple screen with screen4 that has estop, reset, mdi window, gcode, and x axis.a few buttons like load gcode, rewind, close gcode. i have another dro for ram depth on the screen also but have not mounted a servo motor to the drive for that yet. it works very well, 10 years now. used to use turbocnc.
