hi u guys
im new to the cnc game and wanting to get a machine put together
i have everything what i need but i have one problem..
i got my breakoutboard with a D-SUB 25-pin connector, only a laptop without one....
so i thought to be smart and bought a D-SUB to USB cable
only my god i cant get it to work...
anybody able to help? i would like to get everything working here..

Yes, those do not work, instead, since you have no parallel port, you'll need a motion controller such as "smooth stepper" or "k-flop".
Of course, you could always buy an older pc with a parallel port built into the motherboard to get things going. ;)
