Title: My notes for 5 axis post
Post by: Mstcnc on February 07, 2006, 12:58:02 PM
In attachement I have compiled information I have collected for my 5 axis postprocessor.
My machine is gantry with 2 axis head.
Head have B axis (rotates around Y axis) and C axis (rotates around Z axis).
I did choose easiest way and did make adjustable head geometry so that B and C axis intersections eachothers, this way it is only needed to calculate X, Y and Z axis transformation according tool tip distance from pivot point and rotary axis angles.

Some problems are still not solved eg. tool tip following error changes according tool lenght.

Regards Mika

Thanks for posting that. While it is way beyond me, I would suspect it will help a lot of others.
