Title: LED for in-position (servo active)
Post by: Jack Hoffa on November 19, 2012, 02:41:26 PM
I am running mach 3 with 2 servos and Gechos

I need to have an external LED that turns on when the servo motor is in-Position (ACtive or what the proper title is.) Does any know of an circuit that would do this.
I talked to a Gechodrive engineer and he said there was no way to connect to the Gecho to do this.

I am not good at electronics and need help-
this is very important to my current project.

you could quite simplty tape a photo transistor over the gecko led and use it to trigger an imput to mach, same theory as an optoisolator.

In position as compared to what ?

Even MACH3 does NOT know IF you are where you are suppose to be. It only knows it send signals out that if completed you will be where you should be.

The drive does not know where it is at it just processes pulses into moves.

Just a thought(;-) TP

I meant the servo is in-sink, or what ever the right name is, charged or alive?

Thanks

Maybe you mean enabled and ready to move ? Tony had a pretty good idea there(;-)
