My simple test design (kind of a warped star) created in Illustrator and saved as emf is divided up into chains, but there are segments of some chains that have other chains connecting them (filling in gaps). It has rapids going all over the place. What can I do to create a proper chain order and have a simple tool path for a pocket cut? I do try to find these answers before posting and hope to get more proficient at it.

Try the OPTIMIZE button .... then CLEAN.

I had tried optimize...didn't use clean. I went back and optimized and cleaned but that would not connect the chains. I had added points to my original Illustrator drawing (hint I saw in a video online). I went back to the original simplified version and it imported as one chain. I am slowing making progress.
Thanks

Try a higher value in the Loading Screen Options for Connection Line tolerance.

At this point I want to consider Vectric Cut 2D. I like the interface with the previews.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with anything from Vectric.
I started with Cut2D but quickly moved up to VCarve Pro and never looked back ;)
