Title: set feedrate mode G94 and g95
Post by: Fred_evans on October 01, 2012, 03:15:04 AM
Hello Chaps,

Mach3 turning.
I do not have any measuring device on my lathe that measures the RPM
therefore i have been using G94 ( units per minute)
I would prefer to use units per revolution ( so as better to control the
surface finish)
Does Mach3 use the F word (as set in the gcode) to determine the feed per rev. or is it
dependant on feedback of the actual RPM from some odometer type device?

In other words if i code g95 f100 and feed as .025 - will the cut be the same as if
i code g95 f1000 and feed as .025 ?

many thanks

You need feedback for it to be correct. If you do not have feedback you can uncheck "Use Spindle Feedback In Sync Mode" and it will go by the RPM you have programmed but its not the best idea. Much better to rig up an index pulse and do it correctly.
