Title: Electrical Shapes Wizard
Post by: cybertek on January 19, 2007, 12:21:01 AM
Is there any way you could modify this wizard
to let us have a couple of user customiseable defined shapes
to add in and use with this wizard :o 8) ;D

Also how about a PCB board creation wizard
Drill,mill, side a, side b, mask ;)

I would pay a additional 100.00 for that alone ;D ;D ;D

i would gladly pay an additional $100.00 to be able to cut odd shape pockets, such as diamonds, triangles. greg

Cybertek:

For pcb go download Eagle http://www.cadsoft.de/
There is a free version that works very well. For $150 you can get a not for profit version that is the same as the pro.
There are eagle to gcode converters out there that also work well .

I have been thinking about doing some pcb milling lately but haven't gotten into it yet. I still use the photo etch method and have no problem with tqfp 80 pin packages. I just am sick of all the mess of it.

Eagle you can design the circuit
You get Gerber,Excellon,HPGL
or Routing,Drilling,Label Mask, Trace mask
The Wizard would take this format
and convert it to a usable format for Mach3
So you can Drill all holes
Route all traces
Then with the inkjet print head from Parrallex
Print your Component labels,
And your Trace Mask
Making Mach3 the Swiss Army knife of the  DIY Tool industry
Besides i have tried the photo etch way of making Boards
and they usually turn out bad OK enough for personal use
embarrassing for commercial work
Maybe you can post some pics of your boards i would not post any of my boards
and hand drilling sucks no mater how good your board is

Well... it is in there now! Look in the NFS wizard set at the Electrical shapes.... In the Shapes.tap file is all the Gcode for each cutout, and too add more I can post how to add them to the file. This will work for any 2D shape and should have cutter comp in the file :)

(That is so last year ;)  )
