Title: NPT THREADING ON THE LATHE - USING THE SIMPLE THREADING WIZARD
Post by: RICH on September 16, 2012, 10:39:20 AM
Attached is a rough draft for how to cut  NPT threads using the Simple Threading (lathe) wizard. You won't find much,if any, concise info
on using it for this task. I was asked to do some tappered threads and it's been a "few years" since doing one.

It was desirable to do the threading in a precise way. The result is the rough writeup attached.
Any comments appreciated. Will probably put the final version in Members Doc's or the Threading on the Lathe Manual as an appendix.

BTW, if interested and want night time reading on tappered threads, have a read of ANSI-B1.20.1, 3, 5.  ;)  ::)
