Post by: LANE on September 01, 2012, 10:57:30 AM
Hi guys!
I have problems with motors on my CNC machine. When i press button RESET i hear motors how they working but when i try to move they not respond. In Mach3 show me how coordinates are changing but my machine stay in place. In past this machine was working correctly and after reinstalling system on PC i have this problem. I can post pictures of settings if that can help.

PS. Sorry for my english :)

Thank you Milan.

Attach your xml and I will have a check of your config to see if there is an obvious issue.

What version of Mach are you running?
What is the Time in Int and the Frequency on the Diagnostics page?
Are you using the onboard parallel port or have you got a PCI parallel port?

Version of Mach is 3.
Times vary between +4.1 and +5.9 and Pulse Frequncy is 23692.
I use onborad parallel port (LPT1).

I was meaning the actual version of Mach 3 you will see that from the Help menu then the About Mach.....

Looking at your config it seems ok as long as you have the correct pins set for each axis. There is one thing however, Looking at your motor tuning I would guess you are meant to be using metric units but you have the default set to Inch. If that is the case then go to Config menu then Native units and change to metric. With your settings in motor tuning and Mach thinking its incch your will likely stall very quickly, if not instantly.

How i see verison of the Mach is 1,02. I did how you said but X and Y axis still can`t run.
Do you know some ways how to check my driver? Maybe is driver in damage...

Here I am again with the same problem :/ but now with new question. How i look, PC and driver is ok, so i think the problem are in step motors. Is there some way to check step motors?

Anyway i will explain what is happen. Whan i start machine(when i press butten RESET) i hear motors how working, but the problem is when i tray to move every single axis. Z work but wery hard, X and Y works for few millisecond and then X and Y are dead, they not respond even i press RESET. Maybe are step motors dead?

Thank you Milan.
