Title: Unknow g code help
Post by: Todd on August 21, 2012, 06:22:31 PM
Hey this is Todd-new user and new CNC user.

I have loaded a file on Mach 3 that is a part that someone is running for me now-he ran some yesterday,  His system is Enroute 4,

He gave me a copy that I was able to load in Mach and could see the gcodes, but then it gave me a status saying "unknown g code Line 3"  This Line 3 was G75.

What could be going on as I know this file runs.  I loaded it as a .cnc file like I said it opened fine but would not let me run.

Is there a way to override this or way to fix?

Any help would be appreciated.

Mach doesnt support the G75 canned cycle as far as I know.

Caught my curiosity on the G75.......
According to Smid it is a peck grooving cycle for the lathe and as Hood said not listed as a supported Mach3 cycle.
So what ever machining task is being done by the G75 you will need to replace it with something else /  or code
to do the equivalent.

I am using a roouter-no lathe.  And I am cutting out parts with spiral bit and a roundover bit-so no pecking.  What would happen if I just delet that line?

Thanks

What you need to do is find out what the Enroute does with the G75, as Rich said it is normally a grooving cycle in lathes.
If you simply delete it it will obviously not do whatever it is meant to do, this may make very little difference or could cause a major crash so I would advise checking the toolpath very closely if you do delete it.
