Title: Big DROs on a separate screen?
Post by: peterliss on August 05, 2012, 05:16:21 AM
Hi Guys,
is there a way I can put a set of BIG XYZ DROs on another program and display on a second display hung on the wall?

I think you'd need to create one large screen that spanned two monitors, and position it on the desktop so your large DRO's are on the one monitor. Kind of a hack, but it's the only way I think.

You can probably do it with a Flash Screenset, if you know what you're doing. Similar to this.

Thanks Gerry, yes I see that could work. I've not worked with Flash before, but I suppose the same could be done with a screen designer(?).
I did think about doing a separate app that would receive data from TCP/Modbus and display that, you could use "localHost" when running it on the same PC. But to be honest I'm not that good a programmer. I might look further. But as a quick fix I like the Mach3 dual screen approach. Again many thanks.
Cheers.

You can't have a two window display with standard screens, only Flash. If you're not already good with Flash, I wouldn't even think about attempting it.

Ah, OK, I was going to have one window that was big enough to extend over both screens, with just the big DROs on the second screen. But if Flash supports multiple windows it might be worth getting to know flash screens.
Thanks for you helps Gerry.
Cheers.
