shown. I saved in version 12 .dxf
When I opened it in lazyturn - it doesnt look like the drawing at all!!
I have attached the dxf-- please see if you can see what i did wrong?
thanks

Fred,
Have a read of Appendix"B" pay attention to Figure 3.5.1 as you need to draw in the correct quadrent.
Notice where the begginning of the profile is in Appendix "A" step 1.

Hello Rich-- How do you get the little arrows at the x0 z0?
I am using autocad and dont know how to get the display to be as in 3.5.1
I see that the paper is divided into quadrants- how is this done?? I have never used this
option
best regards

You need to move your drawing to 0,0. To display the arrows at the origin, type UCSICON, then enter, then OR, and enter again.

hello ger21--
Really sorry but i dont know how to do what you are suggesting.
I chose " create new ucs icon " and placed that icon on the page.
How do you move the drawing to 0,0. ( am trying to drag it there- but i am sure that is not the
correct way to do it.
please help

Fred,
You can find some great Autocadd tutorials on the internet.
Go to the View tab >Display>UCS Icon> tick the ON and Origin. The USC Icon will now be at 0,0,0.
To move the profile, select everything, r mouse click MOVE, snap to the beginning of the profile, then in the comand line type 0,0,0
for where you want to move the selected items to be moved to. If you snapped correctly to the beginnng of the profile it should now be moved
and you will see the USC icon at 0,0.

Thank you Hood-- (cant believe it was so easy sorry to waste time on something off topic!!!)
Now about the lines dividing the paper into quadrants. Are they something the draftsman has put
in or are they a setting in autocad which put them in automatically??
( I found an autocad forum called cadtutor-- I will spend more time on it but right now- would you
mind just helping with theis query?? I really want to get lazyturn up an running !!)
many thanks
