Hello chaps.
Newbie to lazyturn and am trying to get my mind around tool creation
I am setting up a grooving tool to do the example .
firstly
How is the "inscribed circle" applied to a parting tool with a
3.5mm wide tip?
In the tool setup dialog what value must i puit in inscrided circle,
tip radius and flank cut depth?
secondly what is the significance of the size of the inscribed circle
and how is it used by the program ?

Fred,
How is the "inscribed circle" applied to a parting tool with a 3.5mm wide tip?
I will need to do some testing to see the affects of varying parameters and that takes time, hours not minutes.
I am going to guess that using tool tip radius and inscribed circle the same value and not ticking use use tool tip radius will
work but don't qoute me on that.
In the tool setup dialog what value must i puit in inscrided circle, tip radius and flank cut depth?
Each is defined in the manual starting on page 15.
what is the significance of the size of the inscribed circle and how is it used by the program ?
See attachment which corrects page 16 of the manual.
