Title: Upgrade Question.
Post by: holycross on July 25, 2012, 09:32:16 PM
I'm running a very old version of Mach3, release 2????

On my lathe I'm adding a C3 spindle index pulse input to be able
to thread.

Which release of Mach3 is currently recommended for threading.

Rich,

Thanks.

When upgrading is it best to copy the license file and xml to a backup location.
Then delete the original copy of Mach3
Then do a clean install of the new version.

Clean installation would be preferred since it seems like you are way back in versions. Always keep a copy of your license in a safe place for backup along with the xml. I always run the driver test to install the driver and also install LazyCam along with Mach.

Rich,

Thanks for the advice.
Now I know what I'm doing this weekend.
