Title: Mach 3 Logic/TTL?
Post by: Newuser1 on July 23, 2012, 03:46:12 PM
Hi,

Is there any way that you can setup a script in Mach to send a +5V TTL when the motor is not running? My stepper driver has a disable input, and because the steppers are very loud when not running(resonance) I'd like to have a +5V applied to this input when no axis are moving. Is this possible?

Thanks

It may vary between different types of stepper motor controller but if I disable an axis then re-enable it the stepper moves position slightly (probably to the nearest whole step position ignoring any micro-steps that may have been present). In any event my accuracy is lost.

Why, I wonder, do your steppers make a loud noise when they are not actually running ??

What make of stepper driver are you using ??

Just curious.
