Title: New Member-Look ahead question
Post by: sodfarmer73 on July 17, 2012, 04:55:36 PM
Hello,
I have a cnc plasma table and I'm having a problem with some artistic drawings. If I draw normal parts with normal radius and lines I have no problems. Some of the artistic drawings I get have a lot of lines to make a radius. When I cut these artistic radius on some of them it beats the heck out of my machine and its not consistent. I believe I read on some forum that you can set Mach 3 to "look ahead" and this helps with the problem. I know part of it is just cutting these types of files, but curious to see if there's some solutions I haven't heard about.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,
You might check to see that you are in G64 Constant Velocity mode instead of G61 ... Exact Stop.
There is a .doc explaining the features of each in the documentation section.
