Title: Automate finding centre of X and Y
Post by: daydreamandy on June 25, 2012, 05:01:05 AM
Hi

Just plugged in my metric CNC machine, looking to solve a problem of Zeroing the XY of the bed.

1. When you run "All ref home" is there a way to increase the distance the motors back off when they hit the limit switches, my switches seem to have a large distance between I/0?
(this sometimes causes limits to set, looking at diagnostics, the limit switch can set sporadically as it not showing as set any longer!)

2. More importantly, is it possible to make a script that will run a routine similar to "All ref home" but uses both limits on the X and Y axis?
I want the machine to find XYZ machine 0, then reverse the function to find XY max without zeroing the coordinates.
Then i want the machine to go to 1/2Xmax and 1/2Ymax and zero the coordinates there.

My machine is home made and my bed size is not the easiest size to deal with! Between limit switches is around 525.774X * 374.540Y (mm)
I found this out by driving XY motors to the limit switches.

Yes, just add some script to the Ref button.
