Title: Script Editor Font Too Small
Post by: Overloaded on June 13, 2012, 11:47:26 AM
Hey folks,
I have no clue as to why the font is so small now when I view a script.
How can I get it back to the normal size ?

Thanks,
Russ

I also tried Russ. No setting that i could find in Mach or Windows.
A work around may be to bump the reading glasses up to 2x! ;D

Thank you very much for your efforts men.
I've got my binoculars duct taped to my head now Rich, might need to borrow one of your cool scopes. ha ha
I have done all I know except to remove Mach and bring it all in again.

Thought maybe it was the C++ Redistributable thing, so I tried reloading that (various versions), different versions of Mach, on and on.

Will try the reload.

Thanks again,
Russ

I saw something similar last night working on a new Conversational Drill Wizard. When I would open the button code it came UP very small but as soon as I clip on it to edit it would pop back up large again. ????

Sounds like a video thing maybe.  I banged on it for about an hour looking for the cause but gave up.

Probably a windows setting like  fontsize DPI. I know that will effect the numbers fitting in the DROs.

Hey Terry,
Editing never changes it here, stays small. Starting a NEW script is small too.

I removed all Mach and reloaded, still the same.

If I remember correctly, when first ever loading Mach, it installs Mach stuff, then the driver, then it loads some sort of redistributable Microsoft stuff.
That is evidently still installed as IT doesn't re-load during the install so I would like to remove it as well and reload EVERYTHING completely to see if it makes a difference but am not sure what to remove.
The Control panel/ Remove Programs has 4 different C++ Redistributables. Would it be safe to remove them ? Would this initiate a more complete re-install of Mach ? Would it cause problems elsewhere ?
Not sure exactly when this happened, but it might have been about the time we were testing Mach 4 for Brian. ? ? ?
Thanks TP,
Russ

Well, I've done all I can think of and cannot get it fixed.
Deleted every Mach related that I could find, reloaded ... still the same.
No idea where that "Editor" is or what it is called. Is it in the M3 folder ? or plopped in Windows somewhere ?

Tried to get on over at Yahoo but have much difficulties with this slow connection.
If I could access the Gods, I'm wondering if they might have any clues.

This PC if working fine otherwise.
Hate to get another one set up just to fix this issue.

Thanks again .... for anything you might think I can try.

Have you tried looking at the Windows Screen configuration and changing the Font size ? From the Desktop Right click on the mouse and go configuration then find the font size setting. Standard is 96  It may have gotten bumped somehow ???

That setting will ALSO effect all the DROs. ARE your dros the correct size?

Just a shot in the dark, (;-)TP

Asked Art earlier this afternoon and the only thing he could think of was windows font size. I had previously tried that here but I only saw Normal and bigger and huge or something like that :D. No smaller.

Same here Hood, thanks tho.

Thanks Terry !
The available font settings here are Normal, Large and Extra Large.
It's allways been on Normal.
I tried Large, it works as it should for all of Windows but the Editor never changes .... still too dinky to read very well.
The DRO's and everything else in Mach are normal with the exception of the Gen Config is larger than it was earlier.
(I dont use Auto Screen Enlarge, I prefer the smaller size)
I tried all different screen resolutions and reloaded Mach 2.61 from a disc. No change in the dinky font editor.
Changed the Hardware Accell too, no diff.
Thanks again TP,
Russ

Function Cfg.
Fonts are all as original, 18.
The Editor is not on that list tho.
Thanks,

Russ is there another computer near that you could just load up Mach3 on and check the fonts size in the editor?  It could be a video card /Driver issue.

Maybe Update your current video driver???

Just a thought, (;-) TP

OK,
Right clk on Dsktp
Properties
Settings
Advanced
DPI was on Normal(96)
Changed to 120 and the Editir font got bigger ... but so did everything else, including the DRO's .... no good.

I was looking at the font size under the Apearance tab earlier, thought that is where TP meant.
It is still on NOrmal but now Normal is as big as Large was earlier.

This has been fine on this PC for a long time, changed nothing that I'm aware of.
Have 2 other PC's in the shop which display fine. One is identical to this one.

Locked up when rebooting from DPI change earlier, will try to set it bac to 97, then check in later.

The scroll wheel seems to work but like Hood says, doesnt "stick".
Thanks again,
Russ

Not sure what fixed it, but it is back to normal !

While the DPI was at 120, I rolled the mouse wheel with Ctrl and the font shifted to the right a few clicks then enlarged.

Set the DPI back to 97, rebooted and all is well now.

Don't know if it was the toggled DPI setting that straightened it out or if the Ctrl/wheel would have straightened it out by itself. ? ? ?

Either way, it is OK now.

Thank you all very much,
Russ

THis is kinda like the problem With designing Wizards. You can place the jog control ON the screen correctly. BUT the Keyboard Jog Hotkeys will NOT work when you first load the wizard to use. You must then OPEN the hotkeys config page, Do nothing as the info is still there, then close it down and save the screenset. THEN the jog control hotkeys will work from then on.

:D
It actually took SEVERAL beers, and I think it also required a second mouse.
Now that I can read the code, I'll probably be hitting you up for some macro help soon Terry.

Thanks a bunch,
Russ
