I am a new user of Mach3 and just completed my cnc router. I installed mach3
--I have successfully jogged my machine in all directions x,y,z--it homes
successfully x and y no z home switch. My machine is a gantry style with a 5'
by 5' cutting area with rack and pinion /stepper drives.Using Gecko g 540.
I have set offset location--everything up to this point seems to be working OK.
I used v-carve 6.0 --tried to cut my name --it cuts in mirror reverse. If it
was glass that I was cutting you could lift it up and look through it would
appear correct. Do I have a missed check mark in mach3 setup??? or is it not
correctly setup in v-carve.
Also the toolpath screen shows it carving/engraving correctly. As a beginner
with mach3 I can't figure this out --it's probably something checked or lefthave checked dir low active and can jog the x axis correctly left with the left arrow key and to the right with the right key.
unchecked.
I can not get the g code drawing to cut correctly from left to right. the image cuts/routs in mirror reverse.and upside down. Even though it appears corect in the toolpath window.
Looking for help and advice. Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like your X axis is moving the wrong way, go to Config menu, Ports and Pins the Motor Setup and change the active state for the Dir Pin of the X axis and see if that helps.

Thanks for the reply. When I check the dir low it will not home to X- --it goes to the x+ and when I jog the left arrow goes right towards the X+ and the right arrow goes the opposite way to X- when I uncheck dir low it goes back to homes to Y-, X-. It's my understanding the homing is suppose to go to y- and x-.
When I get home from work I will go through my setup again--take some notes of changes i make and report back with the results. It's not fun being a newbe.
thanks again

Hey dseaver I know what you mean as being a NEWBE. I have just learned to set up a G code, I am using BobCad.
I went to run it with Mach 3 and the tool path window shows it running but the head does not move.
I went to the config. videos and now my motor controls are all screwed up. (up/down moves A, Y moves X, Y moved Z and nothing moves Y)
The fun of all this is overwhelming.
I have 0 experience with this type of equipment, but I will get there.
Any advise?

Dave,
Did you every resolve this? I am having the exact same issue (using V-Carve). It cuts beautifully, just in reverse.
