Title: Wanting to add 4th axis
Post by: liquidmetal on May 19, 2012, 05:36:18 PM
I've got a sherline type 3 axis milling machine that I added the cnc controls too and it works well. I'm wanting to add the 4th axis rotary table but I'm not sure of a couple things. Do the stepper motors have to be the same as what's on X Y and Z right now? I see a few of these things on evil-bay and I'm wondering if M3 can drive them if the stepper motors are different from what I have. I know I'll need a 4 axis control board too. Any input? Thanks, Mike

The rotary stepper motor dose not need to be same as the ones you currently have on the mill.
