Title: Mach weak output help
Post by: salvanosalvador on April 28, 2012, 10:40:14 AM
I am trying to drive one stepper and I connected the circuit and tested it using the Breakout board software, the motor spins perfectly but with Mach3 the axis pul LED in the BB just have a dim light and the motor don't spin >>>>I think it is the output signal from mach so How can I change it?

Help PLEASE

If it is the step LED on the BOB then chances are it will be dim as it will only be getting a pulse when you are trying to jog. Have you set the Steps per unit and Velocity correctly for your setup?

I really need your help

I have 1.8d stepper with a 200 s/r and a 2.8 A/phase.

I just wanna try the motor without any mechanical drive connected.

I don't know how to calculate Steps Per Unit and acceleration and velocity.

( this morning I tried to increase the velocity rate and the LED is more Bright but No effect on the Motor shaft)

Set to half step and set steps per unit to 400 and maybe Velocity to 300 with low accel and see how you get on. Your drives sound old with only full/half stepping so you may require a wide pulse, try enabling Sherline mode and restarting Mach.
