Hello everyone. New here to the forum and Mach. Just retrofitted my mill. I am having problems with any type of circle. Looks like someone drew it by hand. Not at all symmetrical. I've tried adjusting backlash, it helped somewhat. I just don't know what else to look for.
Please help.

Poor circles are not always backlash, it could be badly adjusted slides and Gib strips, it can also be flex in the machine or tool holder.
Check all of these and correct any problems, then set up the backlash in the screws.

Also might want to check to see if your steps per are right. If you command a 1" move does it move 1"?

In addition to backlash and gibs, you must also be sure your motors are tuned so that you are not loosing steps.
I had one system that used a slow processor- 600mhz I think- and it would jog any axis just fine, but it would not make circles- the extra computing to figure the path swamped the computer and the outputs got ragged and lost steps.
