This is my first post on this forum, but i think not the last!
Im trying to install the Mach3 plugin for pokeys on my computer with no C: -drive. The hard-drive on this computer has the letter K: .
When i try to run the installation program downloaded from Polabs page, it will stop and tell me to select another drive than C:, but there is no selection for that....
Please help me!
Thanks,
/Micke

Just either type K instead of C or browse to where you want it to go.

I cant find where to browse or type te location!
-
Assuming it is the same pokeys installer I have just looked at you do it from this part of the install. Either change the C to K or use the browse.

Wait a min, you said plugin, can you send a link to the one you are meaning?
Hood

i dont get the screen above when i try to run that installer!

Thanks, now i have installed it soccesfully on my computer.
But now to the next problem...
I have installed the pluginin, and configured a few buttons on my pendant. The problem is that when i for example press the Z-- button, the machine will not stop jogging when i release the button! It is configured as Button 312. The problem is similar to other buttons too. When i test the inputs in PoKeys configuration program, the buttons works just fine.
-
Try inverting the input setting.

@msv: I will contact Brian in regards to these 'push to jog' buttons in Mach3. Apparently, these need special handling in the plugin.
-
@msv: Please download the latest version of the plugin available at http://www.poscope.com/news/?n=8. Does it work as it should?
-
I have tried that too, but without any success. Can i just change the .dll file in the plugin folder, or is it something there i do wrong?
I have followed the instruction for the mach3 plugin, but is there any more detailed instruction available??
Thanks!
/Micke
-
Yes, you should just copy the new Pokeys.dll file into the plugins folder and replace the older one.
This is the 'alpha' release of the plugin. We are preparing the plugin for the final release that will be accompanied with the proper installation and a manual also.
-
Ok, i understand!
I think that sometehing goes wrong when i install the plugin, because i cant get the Pokeys device under the "PluginControl" menu in Mach3. What did i do wrong??
-
You will not see it there, only some plugins are accessed via that menu. The Pokeys one is accessed via Config menu then Config Plugins then you click on the config at the side of it.
Hood
-
Thanks, then i am right there!
Do i need to run the Pokeys utility to set the outputs, and then run that in the background?
-
No.
You need plugin only.
-
Thanks for your help, folks!
Ok, i do like this:
1. I put the plugin dll-file in the mach3 plugin folder.
2. Start Mach3, go to pluginconfig, enable the plugin
3. Click on the Pokeys device config button.
4. Enable and config some buttons.
5. Nothing happens when i push the buttons on the pendant!
I have tried to restart Mach3 between 2 & 3 and 3 & 4
But when i start the Pokeys utility and configure the outputs, i get response from the pendant in mach3, with the problem i mentioned abowe. The axis will not stop jogging when i release the button.

Did you restart Mach after you enabled the plugin?
You may also need to restart after you make changes although I am not sure about that but worth a try.
Hood
-
Yes, i have tried to restart, many times!
-
What do you mean by "5. Nothing happens when i push the buttons on the pendant!", however you said that "The axis will not stop jogging when i release the button."
Please explain what you would like to do and then I will be able to help guide you through the process. Also, export your complete plugin settings and attach it here.
-
It is when i configure and send the inputs in Pokeys configuration tool, and then run Mach3 i get that result. I first thought that was the right method...
When i dont use the Pokeys config tool first, i get no response from my pendant.
I will soon attach the file, the machine is att home, and i am at my work....
-
You should only use Mach3 plugin configuration dialog for proper setup. PoKeys configuration tool in this case is mainly used for diagnostics.
-
Try this, go into your Mach3 folder and rename the plugins folder to 1plugins. Next make a new folder called plugins and put the PoKeys plugin in that folder. Start Mach and see if it works. If it does then it is likely another plugin that is interfering.

Hood; Now i have tried that, with no luck!
Here is my configurataion XML -file attached.
-
Can you try this one? Just open the configuration, review it again and click OK.
Pins were not set as inputs by default.
-
Thanks!
Now the buttons is working!
Now i just have to figure out how to setup the MPG. I have a switch to chose between the axis, but what setting is it for the MPG?
-
MPG is an encoder, so you should setup one of the encoders and map it to appropriate Mach3 DRO.
-
Do i need to configure the MPG under ports and pins also? If so, what port number should i use?
I cant get any signal from my rotary encoder in Mach3, i know that it works, because i have tested it in Pokeys utility.
Thanks!
-
Forget about ports and pins if you are using PoKeys plugin in Mach3. These are limited to pins present on the LPT port and have nothing to do with PoKeys devices.
Go to plugin configuration and click on the tab 'Encoders'. Configure one of the encoders by selecting which pins on PoKeys device you have connected your MPG to. Then just select the desired Mach3 DRO.
-
If i uncheck the MPG in ports and pins, i can not lit the mpg led on the mpg/jog flyout screen. I get no response att all from my encoder...
-
There was a small bug regarding the inputs for the encoder. Please install the plugin in the attachment.
To use the MPG in Mach3, enable the MPG in the Mach3 MPG/encoder settings. Leave pin A and B fields at 0.
-
What DRO should i choose to set the encoder to MPG1?
-
Use the DRO 101.
-
Thanks for the file, and your all the time fast response!
I have now installed the new pluginfile, enabled the MPG1, and entered zero:s in the ports and pins fields.
I use the DRO101, but i still get no response from the MPG. What am i doing wrong?
-
I have just tried and it works fine here.If you attach your Mach xml I can look at that to see if you have a Mach problem.
Hood
-
Thanks!
Here are the files!
-
Well I am not sure what is wrong but I cant get your xml to work correctly with the MPG, I do get it to work a bit but its far from right. I will look further at it tomorrow and see if I can find the problem.

Nothing new on this?
-
Sorry couldnt fnd anything and can only assume something is corrupt in the xml. May be worth making a new xml up and seeing if that helps but make sure you dont use the clone option or it will likely just pass the problem along.
