Title: New 4 Axis Milling Screen Set (RaspScreen)
Post by: Graham Waterworth on January 05, 2007, 04:10:50 AM
Hi All,

here is a part finished screen set for 4 axis milling, I have designed it to be clear, clean and simple, I am testing it for use on a 15" touch screen.

Put RaspScreen.set into the Mach3 folder

Put the RaspButtons folder inside Mach3\Bitmaps folder

PLEASE NOTE

The screen set is not finished and only part tested, load it and have a look but don't use it.

Any comments welcome.

Graham.

Hi Graham

Looking good - very industrial and functional. One thing I have noticed is that some of the LED buttons flicker of their own accord, I'm not sure whether they are meant to?. Also one thing I do like in normal Mach is the ability to simply Zero the DRO's are you planning to add this. I have a touch screen setup for my mill so when it's back together I would be very interested in trying this screenset. Keep up the good work.

Cheers

Dave

Lots more to add yet but zeroing the dro's is one of them.

If you mean the opt stop led is flashing, I'm not sure why that is at the moment but I will fix it along with the rest of the problems

As I said its in a very early stage at the moment, but its always good to know what others think.  People come up with things I may have missed and after all the effort these things take its nice to think others would use it.

I think this screenset is going to be great for touch screens. When I have a minute I will try and load it up on the 15" touchscreen I have on my lathe and see how it 'feels' and the how the sizing is.

Just notice this new screen  :o

So that's how you make a good machine interface!
Great detail and work!
Did you model it around hardwear you already have?

Thanks, praise indeed from a master.

Its not a copy of anything that I know of,  its more a case of how I think controls should be. Easy and un-cluttered.

Graham,
Looks good little like black and white TV set from 70s :-))
I like clean design. Love to try on my mill then it finished as I steel cant get to understand this flash thing myself :-(

Hi Graham,

Have you done any more work on the RaspScreen since Jan. 5, 2007?  I downloaded that one and it's the most useable one I've seen so far.
I hope you'll complete it.

Bob

Here is the latest version of my screen set, its still not complete but its getting there.

Just extract the zip file to your hard drive C: or where ever you have Mach3 located.

Hi Graham

Only today I saw his work, I tested and is very beautiful. I wonder if there is any progress, or if you have finished. I would use in my new router.
If not completed, could send me the file and a tutorial so I can continue.
Its screen is without doubt the best I've seen. Thank you.
