Hi all,
I admit I don't know what I'm doing but very willing to learn. I'm simply trying to engrave some text in some aluminum. Here is what I'm doing:
using mach3 wizard - Text Engraving v4
I have written the g code for what I want engraved and clicked run and it runs fine but I have no z axis control/movement.
On the text engraving page it will not allow me to enter any values for the rapid height, zero, or depth of the z axis. (actually it won't let me enter ANY values for anything. Just asks for feed rate, height and spacing after I click write) When I change the value to what I want it goes back to zero when I click something else.
Like I said, I've moved my cutter to the starting point (bottom left of workpiece). Paper off of work piece and zeroed everything out. Click run and it traces good, just no z axis movement because I can't enter any values.
Any help on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for your time, James

Don't use the wizard much at all.... but you need to input a tool ( try 0 if you don't have any in the tool table, pick a font, and clicking write for it to post code. Make sure you fill in all the inputs.......should work. ;)

James,
Anytime you enter a value to a DRO, you MUST hit the ENTER key before clicking anything else.
Might be your prob.

Thank you both VERY much. Yep, Enter key was the trick. Works like a charm now. Thanks agan, James

Hi Brett,
I am not sure if I will be going, should know by mid month. I'd like to fly down, maybe stop by Pageland. They might let me camp under my wing.
Going to try to make the IMTS show in Chicago this year also.
$.$$'s tight right now.
See Ya bud,
Russ
