Hi, i have PMDX125 break out board and cant get the Z-probe to work, well it works but not the way i understand it needs to work. By this i mean the probe comes down and touches the metal plate which is 6mm thick. Backs off a number, lets say 12.34mm and starts to come down again, toches and retracts to a number, say 8.56mm again. After this the z-axis DRO is at a value which deosn't mean much. As I understood the process is z-axis comes down and touches the plate (6mm) and stops, backs off 0.25mm and sets the Z-Axis 6.25. Hope somebody can help. Thank you and regards. John

It is most likely the macro you are using needs altered or your plate thickness.

Tks, and yes I agree but which macro do I look at?
-
Which one do you use? Mach does not come with that as standard so you must have a non standard screenset or macro.

I'm using the Mach Blue Probing screen set which has the touch probe switch in the screen layout. Tks John

If you go to Operator menu the Edit Button Scripts you should see the button flashing, click it and the script in the button will open to allow you to edit.

Tks, will try when i get home and let u know.

The Mach Blue Probing screen set should have a place in the probe section where you can set the Z plate offset.

Tks, that I understand but when the button is pressed the action is erratic therefore I need to have a look see at the code linked to that button which I now have been told how too. Rgs John
