Title: Lazy Cam Beta Limitations
Post by: krugshouse on February 29, 2012, 04:40:54 PM
I am new to the CNC world and I have Mach3 and Lazy Cam Beta. First is there a manual for the Beta ver? So far i have figured out how to clean up my dxf's. but how do I generate G code to input into Mach 3? I'm sure these questions have been asked a hundred times, but like I said I'm new to this. In fact my machine isn't even finished it needs the electronics installed, but while I am waiting for that I figured I would start to use the software I have available. Thanks in advance for any help you guys offer me. Enjoy the file

You will find a manual for LazyCam in Members Docs.
Read the manual and you'll be fine.

Is there any advantage to buying and using Lazy Cam Pro over the free LC beta?

Allows offsetting, lathe posting ( use LazyTurn instead for the lathe ), pocketing and the other modules.
Suggest you try out other programs before purchasing. Only you can decide what you want.

Look at Vectric's Cut 2D. It's more money, but far easier to use.

I think way too pricey for the hobbyist.
