Title: Win a G-Rex ( Competition)
Post by: ynneb on February 02, 2006, 05:18:24 PM
As many of you would know, the G-Rex is soon to be released.
I have descided to run a competition and the prize will be a G-Rex.

There has been a call for a Mach4 sticker to be designed. So why not make this the competition.

All entries must be submitted to this thread  by Feb 28 2006

I will ask Art to judge the winner. If not I will do it.

All entries must be a maximum 150 pixal high  X 450 pixal wide (Preferably less the 50 k file size)

Please do not submit BMPs or non compressed formats, as they are just too big in file size. These entries will be deleted and will not be judged.

Pleased do not bombard me with silly questions. IE; What time zone will the competition be closed in. Just make sure you get your entries in well before  the 28th

In order to upload your entry you will need to press the "reply" button and not fill in the box at the end of this thread. You will need to then select the "Additiional options" to upload the picture. ( remember NO BMPS ) JPGs or GIFs or PNGs are acceptable.

I will edit these rules as time goes on and the questions come in.

Any comment posts in this thread will be deleted in 24 hours so as the keep the thread tight on entry content.

Due to past experience, these sorts of competitions can run bad because of claims of foul play etc. Please remember this is a fun thing, and an informal off the cuff competition. If you dont win, at least you had some fun trying.

You may submit only two entries per person. any more than this will be deleted. You may however change your entries as many times as you like up until closing. Please edit your post and not create a new post.

Be as creative as you like. A well thought out slogan could be as good as a drawing.

Go for it, I can hardly wait.

Regards Benny

Rule edits:
The prize will not be swapped for cash.
You dont know what a G-Rex is ? See here http://www.geckodrive.com/product.cfm?pid=17

Here are some examples of what NOT to do http://machsupport.com/Coppermine/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=10001&pos=4
You will have to click on the displayed piicture to see it at correct size.

If you dont have any drawing software you can download a fully working 30 day trial of Realdraw Pro http://www.mediachance.com/realdraw/ ( Highly recommended, easy to use, great results )

Looking Good Guys!..

Impressive amount of talent out there. Looking forward to getting a screendesigner working that will allow for those talents to be used in more ways..

The enrty I am submitting is clearly worthy of first place. If I do not win this competition you will be hearing from my legal team.
And thankyou Mark, I'm well aware I'm incredibly talented.

Sincerely

I hope it was ok to reallocate the pixels allowed.Mine is circle and oval.I like stickers that are simple and makes someone seeing it ask "what does that represent".My company logo is like that and my favorite coffee shop in town has just a '!' as a button they hand out.Everyone asks me about the button. These look hotter with more pixels.

This is a concept rather than an entry. the concept seemed obvious to me from the name of the product and the alternative (dos)

A jet that breaks away from a black hole.
(picture size is 41kb)
These photos that i have modified to be in the picture may have been copyright but not to my knowledge.

anyone with photoshop skills could make a solar eclipse and one could take a photo of their rc scale jet.

and replace the three with a four. ??? ???

Hello to all of you!

First let me say that there`s a lot of creative potential in all of your submissions, most of all the funny ones!

Here's my submission for the contest. I tried to combine the G-Rex optimized Mach4 with the logo "G-Rex READY".

I also gave it the slogan "The best way to step into a new direction"... ( i hope the slogan makes sense in english... :)... i'm german...).

Could also be nice to make a banner out of it and animate it in flash... Or do a screendesign for mach4...

Greetings,

Andy

And the winner is....

 Capt_Chaos..

Way to go Cap'n. Looks very nice. Can you send me (offlist) to fenerty@artofcnc.ca , your real mailing address , as well as any original graphics files for this in pretty much any format.

My thanks to all the submitters, good job on all counts. The Capn's entry was just good enough to swing the vote. Myself and Benny picked the same one in the end, (and the same second place, though
I wont announce that, no sense rubbing it in that somene was that close... :)

 Thanks everyone, good competion...

Regards,
Art

Way to go, Andy!  I like yours more too!  Congratulations!  Nice and clear, and a clever way to work in the Grex.

John (bloy)

P.S.  ...just curious...did I make it into the top twenty?   ;)

There was much heated debate about who the winner would be.
There were  many good entries.
It almost came down to a coin toss, unfortunately coins only have two sides
