Title: Spindle stopped working, help!

I have a very strange problem here. I was running my CNC machine this morning and it was running fine. I turned it off for about 4 hours and when I came back and tried to run a cut the spindle would simply not work at all. all the axis move perfectly and I even plugged the spindle directly to check if it's running and it's fine, but it's not running from mach, either if I try to make it run or if I run a program.

Can someone help me please?

Post by: Alejandrog on February 01, 2012, 06:01:01 AM: Yes, it flashes like if it was running normally but the router doesn't start. I checked the config a couple of times, turned off and on the machine and pc and still same problem.

What can I do?

Does the spindle have speed control?

Post by: Alejandrog on February 01, 2012, 06:41:27 AM: You can change the speed but only trough mach3 and I even tried to increase it to the max or min and nothing happens. It's actually the only part that is not responding, all the axis move perfectly

1. A relay will be energised to enable the spindle.

2. a signal is sent to an analogue board to vary the speed.

start the spindle in mach and listen for the relay activation.

Post by: Alejandrog on February 01, 2012, 04:25:43 PM: It's fixed. for some reason I thought of reinstalling mach3 and it actually worked out well.

My problem with mach is that i have to use the version 1 wich the machine came with, if I install the version 3 I can't open big gcode files cause I don't have a licence for the newer version and I don't know what licence this machine came with but runs my files well

Post by: Hood on February 02, 2012, 03:04:18 AM: If you have a licence for an older version of Mach and it is saying it is not valid with Mach3 then it would seem it is a pirate licence you have as the original licence that came with the very first versions of Mach are valid for all versions.
