To the experts -
thank you for your kind advice. I never used the video tutorials until
you suggested that i do and now I realize how much further i could
have been if i had used the video tutorials. The one I have watched are comprehensive, easy yo understand
and very educational.
Just a question about " zero world"
If i zero world does it also reset the home position that was set with home x and home z ??

The Zero World buttons, found on Turns manual screen, resets the axis position to 0 and will clear /remove any work offsets.

but does the "Home" position as set by set home remain untouched?
thanks Rich

The home position will be lost since by clicking the Zero World button you are telling Mach that the current position in Machine coordinates is now
at a different location. So you would need to define where your new home position is. Home can be anywhere. Think of it as cleaning everything and starting from scratch.
