Title: Pitch issues threading on the lathe
Post by: marius53 on January 12, 2012, 12:34:19 PM
I am running Mach3 Version R3.043.053

In the last few days I have installed on my lathe an opto coupler with an index attached to the spindle shaft.
I have done many tests before start threading.
The signal is fine and the RPM indication on the DRO is correct.
I have checked the speed with a digital tach that indicates the same speed.
Checks have been done at different speeds with the same results.
In the "Spindle Setup" I have the sync mode and speed averaging enabled.
So it seems that everything is OK.

Using the simple threading wizard I started a test threading 8mm x 1 10 mm long.
Everything worked fine and the pitch was correct measured with a thread pitch gauge.
I repeated the operation modifying only the pitch taking it at 1.25.
The final pitch this time was wrong measured again with thread pitch gauge.
I have tried many times with the same result.

Cutting another thread with a pitch = 0.5 it was correct.
I don't know where to look for to solve this issue.

Is there somebody having the same trouble?
