I am confused by the formula to come up with steps per unit in the motor config screen, can someone give me the value using 16tpi rods with 1.8 degree motors, 200 steps per rev.?
Thanks.

If your gearing is one to one and your not micro stepping it will go like this.
16 tpi = 16 rounds per inch
200 steps per rev. = 200 X 16 = 3200 per inch.

Thanks Brett, I have the controller jumpered for 1/2 step, does that mean I use 1600? This probably seems like a dumb question, but I do appreciate your help.

Your welcome Terry,
No, on the steps, they will actually double. Set it to 6400 per for 1 inch of movement. If you set it to 1 full step you will have a resolution of .0003125. At 1/2 step it will give you a resolution of .00015625. ;D
