Title: Using rg-59 TV cable for home and limit switch(s)
Post by: geone on October 11, 2011, 03:32:21 PM
Has anyone used TV cable for limit and home switch wiring.  It is totally shielded and a single conductor for series switch setup...the downside?

YOU end up with a LOT of rigid cable hanging around your machine. For each switch you still have to have wires going to the switch and away from switch. IF you daisey chain them it makes it worse sometimes. AND the wire is normally rigid core easier to have break due to vibration and flexing.

BUT if that is all you have access to better than nothing(;-)

My view is that it will just lead to problems at a later date.
It is not expensive to buy and two core shielded cable will make a much better job.
