Title: Help! Servo turns CW only with SS
Post by: murilolana on October 03, 2011, 05:57:24 PM
Hi everyone,

I just bought a SS last week and hooked up one servo today to test it. I`m using a C11G bob, G320x drivers and now the SS.
I`ve connected everything and tunned as a X axis, but no matter wich direction I jog, the servo only spins CW. I press the left arrow and it spins CW, I press the right arrow and it spins CW anyway...

Can anyone help me?

I`ve tested the C11G bob without the SS once and it worked ok, although not so smooth.

Thanks.

Sounds like you are missing the direction signal. Could be a configuration issue in Mach or it could be a wiring issue. Use a volt meter to measure the voltage on the direction signal, it should change from around 0V to around 5V when you change the direction your jogging.

I switched the driver and motor to test if it had something to do with them, but no success. Even installed Mach on another computer but the problem persisted.
Can you tell which Mach3 configuratio I could try changing to fix this?

You need to measure the voltage at the direction pin on your BOB first. This will tell you where the problem lies.

problem solved!!
The cause was a wrong wiring to the common terminal.

Thanks for the help, Jeff.
