Title: Looking for angles on single lip cutters
Post by: liquidmetal on September 25, 2011, 01:01:32 PM
OK, I finally purchased a cutter grinder. I think the instructions were translated from japaneese to chineese to english. What I'm trying to figure out are the actual angles of a single lip cutter. I primarily use 30deg cutters with .005 tips. What I'd like to know specifically is the angle of the tip itself and the clearance or back angle of the cutter. Any info is certainly appreciated! Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

This web-page should have all the details you require   http://www.majosoft.com/engraving/html/anatomy_of_an_engraving_cutter.htm

Including the data from the Antares site  http://www.antaresinc.net/FactROT.html

Tweakie.

Definately good info. I'm looking for specific numbers though.
