Hi guys,
I ordered a cheap Logitec e1000 video camera off ebay for 7.00 shipped and went about
making a holder for it yesterday.
Here is a youtube video of the results.

Awesome work on the camera holder !
Will you post the plans or .dxf's for making one? Also - what specific camera did you use?
Your cnc conversion looks nice also.
Thanks!

Sure,
Here is the drawing in DWG and DXF
The Camera is a Logitec E1000 and can be found all over ebay for a "buy it now" and free
shipping for about $7.00.
I did not add the flat spots to my 3/8" shaft but I am planning on making another. I think the
flat spots will greatly improve the accuracy of the adjustments.

Thanks for sharing the files!
I like the adjustment feature on your set up.
It seems like some sort of slot system - with 2 slots and 2 plates would allow you to adjust the camera in the x-y plane to zero very easily......
Gotta give that some more thought...
Thanks again for sharing..

Hey Joe,
The slot in the drawing is only for the camera wire. Since the wire has a plug
on both ends I could not use a simple hole for the wire. There is only 1 slot.
All the adjustment is in the eight 6/32" screws that tighten against the flat spots
on the shaft. That is why the shaft is 3/8" but the hole in the body is 7/16". The
shaft is supported entirely by the adjustment screws. Those screws will give you
angle adjustment in the Z axis and they will give you Y and X movement to center
once you have the Z correct.
I did not cut the flat spots on the first shaft I made but will be adding them.
Start your adjustments with the screws finger tight. once you are really close
you can start to tighten down with a wrench.

Now that you have a camera all set up you may want to try out Copycat. Here is a link:

The camera's resolution can be improved if you so desire by added a lense to the system. Copycat also allows finding centers,
corners etc so scan the manual.

I downloaded it and will read it over!

Thanks Rich!
I have downloaded it and will begin exploring that shortly.
There is definitely a wealth of information here...
