Title: Transferring Mach setup to a different PC
Post by: rbarr110 on August 08, 2011, 03:01:27 PM
So I have mach setup the way I want it, but need to change computers it is set up on.

What files do I need to transfer over to keep all my settings and my screen setup?

Thanks

All depends what you have but the following are all you are likely to need but may not need all.
the xml for the profile you use,
the macro folder for the profile you use (tooltable and fixtures are in here)
Brains folder if you have made any,
Licence files (Mach1Lic.dat for Mach and WizLic.dat for NFS wizards)
Bitmaps folder if you have made or use a custom screen
The screenset itself..
Plugins folder if using some plugins.

Think thats about it.

What I do is install  Mach3 on the target machine.

then Copy the C:\Mach directory and all its files over to a USB stick and then to the new machine C:\Mach directory.

This ASSUMES you did a standard install to each computer.

Also NOTE that the setting for the LPT port(s) if used will most likely be different and you need to reset Mach to the current computer port address.
