hi Tweakie, thanks, but I am confused. this image is a snapshot of a video clip of an industial design student making a wood bowl using some sort of cad program and a cnc machine. I was wondering if anybody recognised the program he was using from the snapshot of the interface. thanks

Definitely Rhino. I use it every day.

hi Guys, thanks so much. yes it is Rhino. now to download the evaluation version and get cracking.
Does anybody know where I can find some good tutorials on to get started. Also, is it only a CAD program or can one transfer the item created directly to G code and then to Mach 3?
thanks again

Rhino itself is CAD but there are addons that will interface with it to do CAM, RhinoCAM being one.

If you are a student you can get an educational bundle that includes Rhino and MadCam. Here: http://www.novedge.com/products/1123 (http://www.novedge.com/products/1123) Great price at only $310 for both, its a steal for anyone that has a current student ID card for any University. Or maybe someone with a child at school... I'm just saying... >:D
