Title: Any MACH3 guru in the Barrie, Ontario area?
Post by: shaffin on July 18, 2011, 02:01:23 PM
Hello,

Is there someone in the local Barrie, Ontario, Canada area who can lend a helping hand with calibrating a new Chinese machine I just got? I come from the EMC world and calibrating the machine is a lot easier since I just need to configure the lead screw and motor spec but I am having some problems with MACH3.

I have gone through a MACH3 motor calibration but yet when I follow the process as follows:

(1) Create a 2D drawing in QCAD (DXF)
(2) Export g-code using DXF2GCODE
(3) Open g-code in MACH3

And attached are the strange results I get. It has to do with how a circle or radius is scaled in my opinion.

Thanks,
Sam.

Change the IJ mode, you will find it on General Config page.

No probs. BTW your code should really have G90.1 or G91.1 at the start so that you will always be in the correct IJ mode no matter what you have set as default on the General Config page.
