Title: 24 volt proximity switches
Post by: wbleeker on July 08, 2011, 03:10:15 AM
Hi Everyone I need some help
I am converting a Chinese router from DSP controller to Mach 3 , I have a BOB and speed control board from Peter Homann as well as the 5volt power supply for these, originally the machine was fitted with SN04-N 24 volt proximity switches which have their own power supply. I want to keep these and was advised to use an Opto22 G4PB4 board and G4IDC modules as an interface between the 24 volt side and the 5volt Breakout Board.
I am not the worlds most brilliant at electronics and cant seem to get the wiring set up that I get a 24v signal in one side and 5v out the other? Can someone give me some easy to follow directions please?
Will

Hi Will,

If you take a look at this document (Section 7) it gives details of proximity switch connections for 12 & 24 Volt / NPN and PNP versions. http://cnc4pc.com/Tech_Docs/C10R10_USER_MANUAL_V2.pdf

Hope this helps,

Tweakie.

Hi Will,

I am glad you have it sorted.

Don't forget to post some pictures of things you make once it is all 'singing and dancing'.  ;)
