Title: Homann MB-02
Post by: hradford5 on June 10, 2011, 11:00:14 AM
I'm trying to determine which breakout board to buy. I'm looking at the Homann MB-02 board. Is anyone familiar with this? I need to be able to integrate 3 each SSRs to control some 120vac solenoids, can I do that with this board?

Hi,

I know a bit about it. :)

Yes you can drive SSR relays directly from the MB-02V6 board. In addition to the D2-D9 outputs you have pins 1, 14, 16 and 17 as well. That said, pin 17 is used by the charge pump if you use it, otherwise it is also available to use as an output.

Have a look at EB008 and EN009 engineering note on this page;

Cheers,

Peter.

So since I'll only be using D2-D5 for my 2 each G201X drives (it's just a 2-axis machine), that will allow me to use D6-D8 for my SSRs, leaving 1, 9, 14 & 16 for my limit/home switches. Is that correct?

Thanks very much for the response,
Zeke

Hi,

Yes you can use D6-D8 for the relay outputs.

No you cannot use pins 1, 9, 14, 16 for inputs. They can only be used for outputs

Inputs can be on pins 10,11,12,13,and 15.

If you look at the diagram in the link, it shows how to daisy chain limit switches so you only need to use a single input.

Cheers,

Peter.

Thanks again Peter, I think I'm getting a better handle on this. Your diagrams are a great help!
