Post by: tmsmith on November 26, 2006, 01:12:45 PM
Is there any documentation available for Lazycam?
I am struggling to use LC though I have listened to the tutorials

hello, DrStein99.
Sorry for the delay but here is some detail.
I am using Rel 3.12 of LazyCam.
I have been importing a DXF file of an expansion link, ie basically a cxurved slot in a curved plate.
I would  have expected an inside  and an outside layer with the inside being cut1 and outside cut2.
It was displayed with 4 layers and parts of  both the inside layer and the outside layer being 'shared' in respect of cuts.
The curves seemed to be one cutting order and straight lines cut at a different time.
There were Rapids (dotted lines) going in various directions and though connected irrational and  time wasting.
Though lead-ins were requested I did not see any when gcode posted.

Editing the lazycam display seemed different from the tutorial in that I could not set up the inside and outside profiles as single separate chains and I could not modify the cutting order to do the job in just 2 cuts (inside and outside).

This job has been hand coded and cut without problem (apart from no lead-ins).

Any pointers would be very welcome.
