I bought a used machine ( Townlabs TL518) using Mach3.....running under a build of R1. Brought it home, loaded R3 but now it doesnt operate.
Issues....
I tested my LPT port, but it finishes ( i think) and the screen disappears, saying Mach1 test complete....so did I pass???
Jogging the machine......all axis are very jerky......
Ok....where do I start now to rectify this glitch?
Motherboard of the PC is an Asus P4B.....LPT is running ECP....
thanks in Advance......

Sam,
When you say axis are jerky, is that just when starting and stopping (reduce acceleration in motor tuning) or does it just not run smoothly ?
Tweakie.

Tweakie.....
It is all the time.....also, the delay from when you stop pushing the button to when the axis actually STOPS moving is like a second or more......seems very wierd.

I think you need to go into motor tuning and set up your motors (Config / Motor Tuning). Increasing the acceleration will reduce the start and stop delay. Don't forget to save your settings / changes for each axis before moving on to the next.
Tweakie.
